Disinfection: Are You Aware

ARE YOU AWARE?

Hard surface disinfectants in Canada fall under the authority of Health Canada and are regulated as drugs. This means that they need to be registered and once approved get granted a DIN number which is a drug identification number. To manufacture disinfectants, companies have to follow very tight manufacturing guidelines called GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Also, part of the approval process is a very strict review of the “directions for use”, as well as the specific claims for killing certain micro organisms. It is therefore very important that the directions on the label are followed for all applications for disinfection.
