Job Purpose
The Shipper/Receiver drives forklift truck to assist in production requirements, shipping and receiving raw materials, components and finished goods. Responsible for stocking and organization of warehouse racks.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Shipper/Receiver performs a range of duties including some or all of the following:
Pick orders and prepare skids for shipment; stock and organization of warehouse racks
Control operation of hand-tools, and automated machines
Receive and deliver raw materials and components to assist in production
Responsible for the accuracy of shipment, documents, and quality of shipped goods
Perform weekly maintenance on forklift trucks
Comply with all the Standard Operating Procedures and Health & Safety Policies of the company
To maintain acceptable housekeeping standards always to ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education
Completion of High School or equivalent
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Certified driver of counter balance/propane Towmotor and Raymond reach truck
Experience in handling dangerous goods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
WHMIS training
Personal characteristics
Shipper/Receivers should demonstrate competence in some or all of the following:
Ability to speak and read English fluently.
Basic math skills
Aptitude for mechanics
Positive Attitude
Experience
Minimum 1 year experience using towmotors
Minimum 3 years experience in an manufacturing setting, preferably in a shipping department
Working Conditions
Shipper/Receivers work in an warehouse environment
