Job Purpose
The Setup Operator ensures all production lines are running efficiently.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Setup Operator performs a wide range of duties including some or all of the following:
Setup production lines in preparation of new products/work orders
Manage flow of production by setting the pace and speed of filling
Control operation of hand-tools, automated machines and mixing equipment to ensure production is met
Troubleshoot all production and filling equipment in the plant
Wash out holding tanks
Transfer finished products away from line to shipping or wrapper
Ensure packaging material is at the production lines
Comply with all the Standard Operating Procedures and Health & Safety Policies of the company
Maintain acceptable housekeeping standard always to ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications
Education
High school diploma, college or technical/vocation school or equivalent
Knowledge, skills and abilities
Mechanical ability to setup and trouble shoot production lines
Knowledge of pumps
Certified driver of counter balance/propane Tow motor and Raymond reach truck and electric hand trucks
Experience with the transportation of dangerous good
Some shipping/receiving experience
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
WHMIS training
Personal characteristics
The Setup Operator should demonstrate competence in some of or all the following:
Ability to speak and read English fluently.
Basic math skills
Aptitude for mechanics
Positive Attitude
Team Player
Experience
1 to 3 years’ experience in a related field
Working Conditions
Setup/Production Coordinator usually works in a warehouse environment closely with the
Plant Manager. Works a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to monitor production activities.
